Premature graying of hair
Graying of hair is a common physical change for your hair to change colour and texture as you grow older as a sign of ageing but premature graying of hair is certainly a big problem.
Your body has hair follicles, which are small sacs that line skin cells. Hair follicles have pigment cells known as melanin. This melanin pigment is the reason of your hair colour ,but as you grow older your hair follicles lose this pigment, resulting in graying of hair.
As white hair is characteristic of ageing ,still whitening of hair can appear at any age – even at the age when you are in high school or college.
There could be many ways to stop early graying of hair ,but it depends on the cause .Here are some common causes of early graying of hair –
• Genetics –
If you notice early graying of your hair ,it may be due to your family history of early whitening of hair of your parents or grandparents. Graying of hair due to this cause can’t be reversed.
• Stress –

In Ayurveda premature graying of hair is termed as palitya .It is considered as pure paitaik disorder .It means when you continuously disturb pitta with your aahar – vihar ,then it can gray your hairs prematurely. Bhrajaka pitta is a subtype of pitta , responsible for the colour and complexion of your skin and hair . Imbalance in Bhrajaka pitta causes insufficient melanin production which results graying of hair.

1) Amla –

2) Brahmi –
Brahmi boosts brain and is a good nervine tonic. It is used in Ayurveda as a tranquilizer . As stress is the major cause of graying hair ,that’s why Brahmi helps to restore natural hair colour by relieving stress .It can be used in the form of oil to massage and use powder for cooling hair mask.
