Punarnava Mandur is an Ayurvedic medicine containing iron content and useful is so many diseases which occurs due to iron deficiency. It is very useful in liver and kidney diseases. It also helps to reduce edema (swelling) in legs, ankles and feet that caused by heart diseases such as congestive cardiac failure. Thus it’s main indication is edema and ascites.

Main ingredient of this medicine in a well known herb named as purarnava. It’s a creeper, usually grown roadside but having magical diuretic effect. Its latin name is Boerhavia diffusa belongs to Nyctaginaceae family.

Pharmacological Actions –
Punarnava Mandur is diuretic, it detoxifies the blood, remove its impurities and toxins and it improves blood circulation.
Medicinal Properties-

• Haematinic (increases haemoglobin levels)
• Diuretic
• Purifies blood
• Anti inflammatory

Dosage –
2-2 tablets twice a day in adults with Gur(Jaggery),water or buttermilk after meal.

Contraindications –
It should not be given during pregnancy because of its some ingredients such as Chitrak, Trivrit and Danti.
