Arjuna tree is widely grown tall deciduous tree in India. Its latin name in Terminalia arjuna belongs to Combretacea family and it is one of the most accepted and beneficial  medicinal plants in indigenous system of medicine for the treatment of various critical diseases.

In Ayurveda, Arjuna tree bark is mainly used for heart diseases and as a heart tonic. Listed below are some of the popular health benefits of using Arjuna bark –
• Atherosclerosis
It has anti-atherogenic and hypo-lipidemic properties.It reduces low-grade inflammation of the blood vessels and anti-hyperlipidemic action lowers serum concentration of total cholesterol, LDL cholestrol, VLDL total cholestrol and triglycerides.
•  Heart failure
It reduces manifestations of heart failure by increasing left ventricular stroke volume index and left ventricular ejection fractions. Its bark extract improves cardiac output and cardiac contractility index. It prevents and reduces cardiac dysfunction and helps to recover from myocardial injury in congestive heart failure.
•  Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
CAD is a common cause of heart failure in addition to uncontrolled hypertension. Arjuna helps to stop its progress and further plaque deposition by reducing low-grade in flammation in the blood vessels and Coronary arteries. It also checks cholestrol deposits and plaque formation. It reduces Serum cholestrol, triglycerides, loo density lipoprotein.
• DNA protection
Arjuna consists of compounds that help to protect against DNA damage from toxins.

Arjuna bark ksheera pak is useful for the treatment of chronic low-grade fever associated with extreme fatigue and plupiced weakness. However,it is not the perfect medicine for lowering fever, but it assists other medicine for lowering fever, but it assists other medicines to fight off infections and fever.
• Dysentry
It is used as Arjuna Ksheera Pak along with Indrayava( Holarrhena Antidysenterica) for treatment of dysentry.This combination helps to reduce bleeding in stool, frequency of defaecation and eradicates the infection.
• Bone fractures
Take 3-4 grams along with 2 grams of Hadjod plant (Cissuus Quadrangularis) is recommended twice daily with Cow’s ghee and Desi khand. It helps to speed up the proliferative physiological process, Which enhances the fracture healing.
• Regulates blood sugar
The host of plant compounds tannins, saponins and flavonoids present in Arjuna tree helps in glucose metabolism and controls the sudden spike in the levels of blood glucose.
• Supports respiratory system
It also helps an individual by means of the expulsion of mucus in the respiratory tract and even prevents it’ from getting accumulated in the respiratory system.
Useful part and dosage
The recommended dosage of Arjuna bark powder is 1-3gm with  boiled milk or water 2-3 times a day.
Precautions
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid the use of Terminalia Species.
