Palash Tree
Palash Tree is a beautiful medicinal plant with a wide range of application. It is a small-sized dry-season deciduous tree, growing to 15 m (49 ft) tall. It is a slow-growing tree.The leaves are pinnate, with an 3.1–6.3 in petiole and three leaflets, each leaflet 3.9–7.9 in long. The flowers are 2.5 cm long, bright orange-red in color and can be spotted even from afar like a flame burning amidst the green and browns of a forest, earning it the title Flame of the Forest. The fruit is a pod 15–20 cm long.
It’s botanical name is Butea monosperma which belongs to Fabaceae family. Commonly it is also known as Dhak.
