Bhunimbadi Kwath is poly-herbal Ayurvedic medicine. It is a classical ayurvedic medicine for hyperacidity and related problems and promotes good digestion. The key ingredient is Bhunimba ( Phyllanthus niruri). This medicine is very effective in treating all digestive problems.It is prepared buy boiling herbs in water till volume is reduced to one fourth. Decoctions are available in liquid form as well as in powder form. In liquid form kadha can be taken orally after adding water. But when available in the form of powder or churna, 3-5 grams of churna is boiled in one liter water till the volume reduces to 250 ml. This is filtered and taken 2-3 times a day.

Bhunimbadi Kwath good for hyperacidity

Ingredients –
Bhunimba – Andrographis paniculata
Ativisha – Aconitum heterophyllum
Lodhra – Symplocos racemosa
Musta – Cyperus rotundus
Indrayava – Seeds of Holarrhena antidysenterica
Amruta – Tinospora cordifolia
Balaka – Coleus vettiveroides
Dhanyaka – Coriander – Coriandrum sativum
Bilva – Aegle marmelos
It is added with 8 parts of water, boiled and reduced to quarter part, filtered.

Properties –
• Appetizer,
• Antacid
• laxative
• Digestive
• Cholagogue
• Antipyretic
• Anti-inflammatory

Indications –

Bhunimbadi Kwath effective in fever


•  It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of fever, associated diarrhoea, cough, cold, asthma.
• Relieves hyperacidity by neutralizing excessive gastric acids in stomach.
•  It is also useful in bleeding disorders.
•  Good in pancreas and liver complaints.
• Bloating, gas, gaseous distension of abdomen.

Dosage –
10-20 ml with an equal quantity of water twice/thrice a day after the meal.

Side Effects –
There are no known side effects with Bhunimbadi Kwath. However it is best to use this product under medical supervision. But avoid self medication of any Ayurvedic formulation as it could harm your balance of doshas .
