Bibhitaki
Bibhitaki or baheda is a large deciduous tree having botanical name Terminalia bellirica is common on plains and lower hills in Southeast Asia, where it is also grown as an avenue tree. It belongs to the Combretaceae family.
Properties –
The fruit of bibhitaki contains a host of plant compounds like
• beta sitosterol
• tannins
• gaelic
• ethyl
• elegiac acid
Effects on Doshas –
Bibhitaki helps to pacify all the three doshas specifically it works on Kapha dosha. It supports mainly rasa(plasma), mamsa(muscle), and asthi(bone) dhatu.
Useful Part –

Fruit rind, seeds, and seed kernels of Bibhitaki are used for medicinal purposes.
Dosage –
3-6 gm is the standard dose of bibhitaki powder for medicinal purposes.
