Kakoli is native to the Himalayan region, where it has been cherished for its medicinal properties for centuries. Kakoli is known by various regional names in different parts of the world. Some of the common alternative names for Kakoli includes Indian Himalayan Lily, Many-Flowered Lily, Lily of Nepal etc. Kakoli, scientifically known as Lilium polyphyllum, is a herbaceous flowering plant that belongs to the Liliaceae family.

Physical Appearance –
Kakoli is a graceful perennial plant with beautiful flowers. It typically grows to a height of about 1 to 2 feet (30 to 60 cm). The leaves are lance-shaped, glossy, and arranged in whorls around the stem. The flowers are pendulous, bell-shaped, and usually creamy white or pale pink, exuding a pleasant fragrance.

The rhizomes or roots of the Kakoli plant are primarily used for medicinal purposes. These parts of the plant contain active compounds responsible for its health benefits.
